Ongoing Clinical Trials

Clinical trial starting in January 2013:

Evaluation of the effects of two natural supplements (fruitflow and resveratrol) on memory: association with changes in cerebral blood flow and fitness

In this study, we are planning to evaluate the effects of two natural supplements on cognitive function and blood flow to the brain in persons with memory complaints. Fruitflow is a tomato extract component which has been shown to modify platelet activity in the vascular system and may have beneficial effects on systemic blood flow. This effect of Fruitflow is similar to aspirin which has antiplatelet activity and is used for a long time for secondary prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in patients. In this study, our goal is to find out whether fruitflow has any beneficial effects on blood flow to the brain and thereby improving memory problems. We also evaluate effects of another natural supplement, Resveratrol, on cognitive functions, blood flow to the brain and fitness alone or in combination with Fruitflow. Resveratrol is a natural compound found in the skin of red grapes and also in wine.
